Winter palace garden view
Width: 240 m
Height: 325 m

This is a painting of the steps leading down to the beautiful garden behind the façade of the Winter palace hotel in Luxor Egypt. This was the hotel where Lord Carnarvon and Howard carter stayed during the Tutankhamun digs in the twenties. This wasn't a commission like the façade painting, but I have sold the original and many prints. It really gives an idea of the heat in the Egyptian sun. This was painted when the outside temperature was above 100 degrees. I still have some prints.
