This is a scene from our visit to Martel, a medieval walled town in the Dordogne with a covered market place in the centre. We had just been in the tourist office , which is in this little courtyard on its own. From here you can look through to the market square. this painting has all the elements I like....strong sunlight and shadows, stone work, and a look through to a brighter space, which always give the scene more depth
